Mam doma wifi router zyxel NBG 420N , dlhe roky sluzil bez najmensieho problemu. ale posledny mesiac zacala vypadavat wifi cast a web rozhranie, pomoze len restart. Chcem si zaobstarat novy ale mam podmienku aby zmenu v nastaveniach boli bez nutnosti restartu ako to funguje aj u tohto. Uvital by som aj funkciu priradenia mena k mac adrese.
1.Viete poradit nejaky podobny router s podobnou vlastnostou a SOHO cenou?

Za dalsie mi je celkom prevkapive ze ma 2x 2dBi antenky a snimi mam lepsi signal ako s TP linkom co ma 5dBi antenu. pritom zyxel je za betonovym jadrom a tp link je pred. |

| Mikrotiku sa bojim kedze som ho nikdy nemal a nemyslim si ze by som zvladol tie nastavenia to je uz asi pre intermediate user , skor hladam pekne web rozhranie, Co sa tyka toho TP linku ten vyzera velmi dobre len ci vie menit nastavenia bez nutneho restartu. |

| mikrotik ma predsa webfig s quickconfigom ziaden problem s nim nie je a robi presne to co popisujes, ziadne restarty a defaultne ma zapnuty aj firewall, nat, dns... lacnjesie riesenie je ten tplink ako som pisal s ddwrt ale urcite by som isiel do mikrotiku... |

Kupil som nakoniec TP Link TLWR842ND , zlakal ma ten USB port a VPN ale teraz som zistil ze DDWRT pre konkretne tento model V2 nieje. Niekde som nasiel OpenWRT a chcem sa opytat je to to iste ?

| dd-wrt vychadza z openwrt, je jednoduchsie a graficke...openwrt nema dostatocnu graficku nastavbu a vsetko sa robi cez prikazovy riadok.... |

hmmm isiel som podla tejto databazy a zadal TL-WR842ND a naslo mi len versia 1.x tak som myslel ze nieje , idem to tam teda skusit nakopcit , co to spravi.

| JOFO a este taka otazka , ked to chcem dat do povodneho stavu? Povodny TPlink firmware? radsej si to precitam po slovensky a od niekoho kto stym ma real skusenost ako v anglickom navode . |

| treba stiahnut original tplink fw. Ak je aj s bootloaderom (ma v nazve boot) treba najprv stripnut bootloader (napr cez dd) a vysledny fw sa da uz klasicky cez webrozhranie updatnut. Druha moznost je cez shell, tam je ale ryziko, ze sa nieco nepodari resp na nieco zabudne.. Potom uz len cez TFTP. Dnes som ozivoval dva taketo TP-Linky |

| Mam striped verziu orig firmwaru ,nahram cez web rozhranie ,restartnem a ddwrt tam je stale.este tam je aj prilozeny textak ze tento bin je len z ddwrt a eate niecoho do factory alw nevuem co robim zle bez vysledku. |

Co robim zle? postupoval som podla tohto navodu, stiahol som si dole ten stripped firmware nahral. restartoval router a stale je tam DD-WRT
With the TL-WR842ND router, there is a catch: the stock firmware is obtained from the OEM: http://www.tplink.com/en/support/downlo ... TL-WR842ND
in case the file name of this firmware file does not contain the word "boot" in it, you can simply revert back to original firmware
in case the file name of this firmware file does contain the word "boot" in it, you need to cut off parts of the image file before flashing it:
The following method applies both for the V1 and V2 since the bootloader is the same size.
An example of an image file with the word "boot" in it is wr842ndv1_en_3_12_25_up_boot(130322).bin.
Cut the first 0x20200 (that is 131,584 = 257*512) Bytes from original firmware:
dd if=orig.bin of=tplink.bin skip=257 bs=512
You should transfer the firmeware image to the /tmp folder and revert back to original firmware (if availlable you can flash the firmware via the webinterface as well):
Via the safer method using sysupgrade:
sysupgrade /tmp/tplink.bin
Or you use the mtd method:
mtd -r write /tmp/tplink.bin firmware
It is also possible to revert to the stock firmware using the method with tftp described in "recovery". (you still need the firmware image without the boot part).
OEM TP-Link firmware for the TL-WR842ND with the boot part removed to revert to the original OEM firmware:

ak si nevies rady, skus ci nepojde TFTP recovery..
- Stiahni si nejaky TFTP server
- Pripoj router kablom k PC
- nastav IPcku na kompe 192.168.0.66
- spust TFTP server s home tam kde mas original bin
- stlac vzadu na routri reset a drz
- zapni router a cakaj so stlacenym resetom este cca 5-6 sekund
Ak tam bezi TFTP recovery, tak by si mal sam stiahnut fw a flashnut
Na 841N mi to tako funguje |
